The first international reggae supergroup to win a Grammy in 1984, Black Uhuru, exemplifies the militant roots tradition of the Waterhouse sound. Founding member Duckie Simpson, the constant force in the group's 34-year evolution, is interviewed in Jamaica and New York, along with singers, Junior Reid and Puma Jones.

Barrington Levy, one of Jamaica's original dancehall artists, is a top-class reggae singer with a distinctive and often imitated vocal style.
